I am a firm believer that summer should never pass without taking an adventure and doing something brave.
Why?
Because it just feels good! It’s empowering, refreshing and totally uplifting…even in the midst of uncomfortable, intimidating and unnerving. We are capable of so much more than we think we are, and there is an adventure out there for every level of brave.
Sometimes the first adventure is reminding ourselves of where we’ve been.
The moments we’ve chosen to step out of our comfort zone and try something new. The adventures we’ve said yes to without knowing what awaited us on the other side. Or the times we’ve believed in something enough to take a heart-pumping leap because to not would be to cease living and breathing.
When we think about the brave things we’ve done in the past, it always inspires us to take one more step. We can hold on to the feeling of lightness that comes with awakening courage and the surge of joy at pressing through the nervous tensions that new adventures bring.
The butterflies that fill our gut when we’re out of our element gives way to confidence a bit faster with each “YES” because we don’t need to know what’s on the other side as much as we need to get to the other side.
Brave is rarely easy but it’s always rewarding.
It shapes us, grows us and changes us. And what perfect time to open our hearts to shaping, growing and changing than during the summer months.
Through splashes of adventure and courageous choices, WE BECOME.

We don’t have to believe we are brave to be brave.
We don’t have to be adventurous to say ‘yes’ to an adventure.
We just have to be willing to take a step. The rest will come.

Say “YES” to every opportunity that comes your way for a week
Admit your limitations and ask for help
Explore nature on a photo scavenger hunt hike (Add a little competition and it’s a blast!)
Go ziplining or whitewater rafting (Love, Love, Love!)
Take the leap to healthier summer eating by adding more green and feel empowered (Your body will thank you!)
Say “NO” to when you feel obligated to say “YES”
Take a painting class or a dance class and let go of all expectations of perfection (So freeing!)
Learn one and practice one new yoga move a week
Take a day trip with only $20 in your pocket
Join a gym, show up and sweat (I’m about to celebrate 1 year!)
Buy the bathing suit you think you can’t wear and wear it proudly
Commit to 10,000 steps a day for 30 days (It’s only 5 miles)
